Architectural and Ethnographic Complex “Old Dobrich”
One of the most distinctive places in the city is the Architectural and Ethnographic Complex “Old Dobrich.” It recreates the atmosphere of the old town and introduces visitors to the traditional crafts and way of life of the people of Dobrudja. A walk through the complex offers the opportunity to explore various artisan workshops and traditional handmade products, while the architecture and narrow streets create the feeling of stepping back in time. The complex is one of the main tourist attractions promoted by Dobrich Municipality to visitors to the city.
Yordan Yovkov Literary Memorial Museum
Dobrich is closely connected with the life and work of Yordan Yovkov, one of Bulgaria’s most prominent writers. Many of his works were inspired by Dobrudja and its people. Visiting the museum exhibitions dedicated to the writer is a great way to discover both his literary legacy and the history and cultural atmosphere of the region.
St. George City Park
If you would like to combine sightseeing with some time in nature, visit St. George City Park. Established in 1867, the park today covers an area of approximately 430 decares (43 hectares). It features lakes, a rose garden, walking paths, and various opportunities for sports and recreation. The oldest part of the park has been designated a cultural monument and a notable example of landscape and park design.
Nature and Animal Protection Centre
Another interesting place, especially if you are travelling with children, is the Nature and Animal Protection Centre. It was established as part of a Bulgarian-Swiss project and covers an area of more than 160 decares (16 hectares). Its spacious grounds and natural-like environment set it apart from traditional urban zoos, making it a pleasant destination for a family outing.
